Let’s Celebrate! Our Anniversary Dinner at Bavette’s Bar & Bouef

Finally…..we got a reservation at Bavette’s Bar & Boeuf on our two year anniversary!!

I thought the restaurant was all about steak but there is so much more to the menu than steak. It has a European, almost Parisan, feel to it. The decor is very European. I love how our bread/appetizer plates were mix matched off old china dishes. The kitchen was somewhat open so you can see the chefs cooking and prepping away. We had to rush through dinner because we only had the babysitter for a few hours. Next time, we are going to order the oysters and baked crab cakes. Overall, I thought the food was full of flavor. There is some richness to the dishes. I’m looking forward to coming back in a few weeks as I scored a Friday night reservation.

The restaurant is dimly lit. I felt like my husband and I were the only two people there (even though the restaurant was full).  I didn’t want to use any flash to take my pictures. I still need to figure out how to take pictures in dimly light places with my camera. Below are some of the items that we ordered. My favorite dish was our salad…the crab stuffed avocado salad. All the flavors were there, including some fennel. It was light and the perfect dish before my steak frites with a side of bone marrow. I love bone marrow! I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed my meal.

I have to thank my wonderful and supportive husband, Charlie, for letting me bring my DSLR camera and take pictures during our anniversary meal. I’m lucky to be married to the nicest man in the world!
