More Than 4 Reasons Why We Loved Our Staycation at the Newly Renovated Four Seasons Chicago Hotel

Last month, we celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary and Charlie’s birthday with a staycation at the newly renovated Four Seasons Chicago Hotel. It was luxurious, fun, kid-friendly – and just the staycation we needed in Chicago.

We partnered with the Chicago Tourism Board (Choose Chicago) on this staycation to promote the opening of hotels in Chicago.

This past year, the Four Seasons Chicago had a complete makeover of its hotel rooms, lobby and check-in, and restaurant. I have to admit, I don’t think I ever entered the Four Seasons Chicago before this stay but I have to say, I love what they did with the space. The lobby feels fresh and modern with a cozy feel (thanks to the neutral colors of the furniture and decor). The check-in area is bright and the light fixtures offer a high end feel. I loved the comfortable feeling of the rooms with the light and warm tones used on the walls and furniture.

Our stay at the Four Seasons Chicago was by far the best staycation in city. Our room, which was two adjoining rooms – a king suite and a double bed – was on the 40th floor with spectacular city and lake views. It was so spacious that all five of us had all the personal space we needed and some. In my opinion, the Four Seasons Chicago is one of the nicest hotels in the city.

The Rooms and Beds are So Comfortable

It’s been over two weeks since we stayed at the Four Seasons Chicago and the twins are still telling us they want to go back to the hotel. They loved running around the rooms and checking out all they have to offer. We all slept through the night while we were there. Now…if only there is a way for me to take the beds home so we can sleep so comfortably.

The Views are Spectacular

I knew I mentioned the views but seriously, I can’t get over the views we had. From early morning to afternoon to sunset, it was just pretty all around. The Four Seasons Chicago is situated near the lake with room floors starting from the 30th floor and up. The sun was shining bright one afternoon and it was so fun to see the boats on Lake Michigan.

The Lobby is Very Instagrammable

The Four Season Chicago’s lobby is located on the 7th floor of the building. So once you get off the elevator, you enter the lobby that’s has warm welcoming yet polished look. I especially like the large prints of some of hte most Instagrammable places in the world, which makes taking There is plenty of room to find seat.

The Food at Adorn Bar & Restaurant is Amazing

Charlie and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary with a dinner at Adorn Bar & Restaurant located in the Four Seasons Chicago. The restaurant is led by James Beard award winning chef, Chef Jonathan Sawyer, who we got to meet and talk to that night. Everything we ordered was so good, including the dessert. I highly recommend the lobster & spaghetti “Joe Beef” style dish and everything on the dessert menu!

The Kid-Friendly Amenities – Including the Ice Cream Cart

The boys joined us on our staycation after our anniversary dinner. It was so fun to see them run around the room in excitement. They immediately ran to the tent that was set up in our room. I appreciated that the hotel provided each of the boys with a cute bath robe, t-shirt, kids activity (coloring book and crayons), and a little stuffed animal. And because we are still in a pandemic, face masks and hand sanitizer.

We also hung out in the pool at the Four Seasons Chicago but a major highlight for the boys was the ice cream cart that comes to your room. You can pick your ice cream and so many different toppings. The Four Seasons Chicago ice cream cart isn’t just for kids though. They have a boozy option for parents and adults where you can add an alcoholic topping like Baileys.

The Room Service Is So Fun and So Good

We always try to make it a point to order room service at our hotel stays. Luke loves when we open each dish and announce what we are eating So now it’s our family thing. And it’s always nice to have breakfast brought to you.

A Perfect Chicago Location for Visitors and Locals for Shopping & Sightseeing

If you’re into shopping, the Four Seasons Chicago is located half a block from Michigan Avenue and a few blocks from Oak Street. The hotel is also a short walk to the lakefront and the Ledge at the former John Hancock building. You can also take a walk from the hotel to the Gold Coast Historical neighborhood and admire the architecture and beauty of some of the homes. Did I mention, there are so many restaurants within walking distance? You won’t run out of options.

Proximity to the Shops at 900 North Michigan

The Four Seasons Chicago Hotel is located in the same building as the shops at 900 N. Michigan, which has Bloomingdales as an anchor. You don’t even have to walk outside to get to the mall. Just take the elevator. 900 North Michigan is one of my favorite malls in the city and they have a wonderful food hall – Aster Hall. It’s a must see when you’re in Chicago.

Thank you Four Seasons Chicago and ChooseChicago for this very fun and memorable staycation! In case you’re wondering where to have a staycation in Chicago, I cannot recommend the Four Seasons Chicago enough!
