I have a confession….I love spending my lunch breaks shopping at Block 37 because it’s conveniently located in downtown Chicago, and it has all the stores I like to shop at. So it’s only natural that I do my holiday shopping there as well!

Block 37 is a shopping, dining and entertainment experience in the heart Chicago – all in one building so you never have to outside in the chilly weather! Block 37 is located in a vibrant area of downtown Chicago on State Street with popular national retailers and small, local businesses alike. There’s something for the whole family!

I took the family to Block 37 this weekend to get some holiday gift ideas for kids – Luke, the twins, and our nieces and nephews. We let Luke pick out what he wanted and what he wanted to give his cousins and snapped some pictures so we can 1) remember what he picked, 2) get an idea of what he wanted and 3) send them to family members letting them know what was on his wish list. And it helped me put together a great gift guide for kids at Block 37!
My Holiday Gift Guide for Kids at Block 37
We stopped by three stores at Block 37 and found some really fun and cute holiday gift ideas for kids – The Disney Store, the Squishable Pop-Up Store, and Carpe Librum Used Book Store. Below are our picks from each of the stores.

Gifts for Kids Who Love Everything Disney – The Disney Store
- Mickey Mouse and Friends Bath Toys for Baby
- Disney’s Animators’ Collection Rolling Luggage
- Star Wars Mega Figurine Set
Gifts for Kids Who Love Plush Toys – Squishable (Pop Up Store)
If you haven’t heard of Squishable or hugged one before, come check out these soft, fun, cute and huggable plush toys at the pop up store on the third floor! The twins love to hug anything that is soft. There are so many fun plush toys to choose from, it was hard to decide!
Gifts for Kids Who Love to Read – Carpe Librum Bookstore
Carpe Librum Bookstore is a unique pop-up not-for-profit book store where all CDs, books, DVDs, and vinyl records are donated by the public and sold for $6 and under. All proceeds go directly into the work of Turning the Page, a non-profit organization working in North Lawndale. This is such a great cause!
The pop up book store is located on the Pedway and has a great selection of children’s books as well as books for adults. The children’s book selection is at the back of the store and Luke went right for the Captain Underpants book.
