Our Essentials for the Newborn Twins Stage

Now that the twins are seven months old and slowly growing out the newborn phase (although I think I technically have five more months to call them that), I wanted to share some items that we have gotten the most use out of and have made our lives a little easier. We try not to buy two of everything for the sake of saving money and for so far it has worked.

Sleeping & Lounging

I have to admit, the Boppy Newborn Lounger the best $30 we ever spent! We used the newborn lounger from day one, and there were times when the twins shared it for a moments. I also used this in the living room during the day. The twins always seem happy to be on it!

We also purchased another baby lounger by Snuggle Me Organic. It is more expensive than the Boppy Newborn Lounger but it is also worth every penny. The twins are very cozy laying in it. Again, we only purchased one but now I think we could’ve gotten two. Another alternative is the DockATot.

We were not ready to buy cribs as we were a bit constrained with space in our bedroom. So we purchased this awesome portable bassinet by MiClassic. It fit perfectly right next to our bed is spacious for the babies to grow into up until six months!

We splurged on the Nuna SENA Aire Travel Crib and used it as a bassinet in our bedroom, along with the MiClassic bassinet. The reason why we purchased the Nuna Pack and Play is because we thought mattress (when placed in the higher position) was sturdier than the Graco one that we had used for Luke. The engineering was much better than the other pack and plays and our newborns didn’t roll to the center when sleeping on it. We used the Nuna pack and play as a bassinet in our bedroom and now have moved it to our living room. I think we are going to get a lot of use out of it!

Strollers for Twins

In addition to using our Bugaboo Twin Donkey stroller (with the bassinets), we have used the Baby Trend Universal Double Snap-N-Go Stroller Frame, especially for short trips and in the beginning when I had to drive and pick Luke up from school. It was easy for me to get the carseats out and on the snap-n-go double stroller. Also, it was easy to fold and unfold and very light for me to handle.

Clothes and Swaddles

I tried to keep it simple for the twins as we knew we would be changing diapers twice as much. I discovered the Cloud Island at Target and bought all the footies I could find. The fabric is good quality and I liked that the zipper zipped up when changing diapers.

I can’t say enough about the aden + anais swaddle blankets, especially during the first month!

Bath Essentials for Newborns

The Angelcare Baby Bath not only looks stylish but is comfortable and easy for give the twins a bath in our kitchen sink. We like the mesh and that it dried pretty fast.

We used Mustella products for Luke and missed it when he got older. So when we had the twins, we were very happy to be using Mustella again!P
