Let’s Celebrate! Merry Christmas 2020

Merry Christmas from our family to yours!

2020 has been a very interesting year which changed our family plans and routines in unexpected ways. We’ve learned to adapt to this temporary normal but not with a lot of stress and wishing it would be over with. Life in Chicago for us has been lots of exploring and dining out. With the pandemic, we’ve had to find things to do as a family where there were no crowds or safe ways to social distance. Dining out in the summer was fun for the time that it lasted. But I do admit eating at home with two rambunctious toddlers is a lot less stressful.

I’ve tried to make things feel “normal” for the boys as much as I could. With the seriousness of the pandemic in the back of my mind, I wanted to make sure we did fun and safe activities for them to enjoy.

On the Sunday after Thanksgiving, we drove out to Dudeck’s Pine Country in Rolling Prairie, Indiana (about an hour drive from Chicago) to find and chop down our Christmas tree. We were at Dudeck’s Pine Country two years ago for the first time and really enjoyed. We skipped last year but I wanted to continue the tradition this year. It’s such a beautiful place for a family activity and of course, to find a Christmas tree. My photos do not do this place any justice. It’s just beautiful to see in person. I’m happy we got a chance to do this fun activity this year. One of the highlights of the year for us.

We only chopped down only one tree and the picture below isn’t our house but I would love to say this is my house goal for Christmas decorations. This house with Christmas trees at its window in Chicago is my favorite this season to see! Located in Lincoln Park on Burling St. It’s even more spectacular at night! So I just wanted to add this picture for this post (also shared to my Instagram post here).

I hope you have a wonderful holiday season!
