Let’s Travel! Four Perfect Winter Days in Paris: Day 3

This is a part three of four of my post about my weekend in Paris. Please check out Day 1 and Day 2 for my mini adventures in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Day 3 is was all about church, the flea market, and a nice dinner at a Michelin star restaurant.

My Day 3 was a Sunday. Being a Catholic, I wanted to attend mass (in French, of course) at a church nearby. As it turned out, there was a Catholic church just down the street from the hotel – Saint-Honore d’Eylau.  Before I started my trip, I researched about the church and found out it was the church where Ernest Hemingway married his second wife, Pauline Pfiefer. I felt like I was walking into a place of literary history.  The church was just beautiful. Simplistic. It had the old church smell, which I love.

Paris Flea Market

After mass, I headed to the Paris Flea Market. I found the directions from Oh Happy Day blog to be very helpful. Thank goodness I stumbled upon this blog or else I would have been totally lost. I highly recommend reading the blog post. I didn’t buy anything at the flea market as there were so many large furniture items or chandeliers. Oh my gosh, there were so many chandeliers.  When I found small items, I still thought they were quite expensive.

In the pictures below, I wanted to highlight the vendors. It felt like a community. People were sitting around eating, playing chess, etc.

Stroll Down Parisian Streets

Since most of the shops are closed on Sundays, after the flea market, I walked around the city and sat at a few cafes. Below are some of my favorite pictures from my stroll.

Dinner at Les Tablettes

At the recommendation of the hotel concierge, we had dinner at Les Tablettes, a Michelin star restaurant. We had the pri-fixe tasting. To be honest, I had no idea what I ate and can’t remember. All I know is that the food was spectacular…what I would imagine a Michelin star restaurant to taste like in Paris.
