Vivian Maier at the Chicago History Museum

On a cold January evening, I had my TV on WTTW waiting for Check Please! to air. Prior to the show, WTTW was airing Jay’s Chicago on so I decided to keep my TV on the channel. I’m so glad I did because that was when I discovered Vivian Maier. If you get a chance, please watch the episode Jay’s Chicago – Vivian Maier . After watching the episode, I googled Vivian Maier and found a few good websites, including this one (http://www.vivianmaier.com/). I also learned that there’s a Vivian Maier exhibit at the Chicago History Museum. So on late Saturday afternoon I went with my husband, baby, and good friend Thuy. Here a few pictures I was able to take from the visit. I hope to one day to be a good photographer like her. I just wish she was still alive to see how people have admired her work.

Indeed, Tami! I am looking forward to the Vivian Maier movie/documentary that’s supposed to be released later this year. In the meantime, I’m just going to admire her work. Thanks for visiting my blog!

That’s so neat! I hadn’t heard about a documentary in the works. Can’t wait until that comes out. I feel fortunate to have seen her works in person recently. They are stunning pieces of art and history.
